Serenity Blackrose is a character I created because I wanted to write a story. To produce this story, I am role playing the plot lines. Ranging from encounters, puzzles and even battles. This means I am rolling d20 or others to move the plot along. bad rolls, means bad things; good rolls, means good things. My friend Todd is DM for my battles, like there was in chapter one.
The story will progress with Chapters and Parts. Most parts will be divided by time or a major location change. There will be an average of 2-4 parts per chapter.
Not to give away too many spoilers, we can still give you what we know about her, right here:
SERENITY BLACKROSE
At an early age she was orphaned. An assassin killed her family and in an act of pity, the Assassin himself took the 6 year old and raised her as his own. He was not very loving, but nor was he cruel. He was always honest, and she knows full well her “guardian” killed her family. Though it would never sit well with her, she understood that it was part of his job. Over the years, her recollection of the event, the once feeling of disdain for the man, faded away.
The first few years, the guardian did not know her name, and she barely spoke. Because this beautiful child gave him peace, even a sense of purpose, he decided to call her Serenity.
As she grew up, he always taught her things; early on it was basic survival skills and skills she would use everyday of her life. As she grew older, she was taught the art of stealth and was trained, at night, how to sneak, hide and case a location. The last few years, it has increased to the use of her daggers, or more technically known as Karambits. These teachings also included herbs, tonics and poisons.
He provided her with an endless amount of books (and you will see that through out the story, when she remembers something she read, it will be in italics). Here she learned about the World of Legon, and it will help guide her through it.
In the last year with her guardian, she decided on a surname, a last name if you will. She thought is appropriate to take the last name of her guardian, but little did she know that the name is not his; it is of the ruthless Assassin’s guild he was part off. The Black Rose.
Months ago, Thorn Gate invaded an island called Summer Isle. It was part of a plan that was botched by the three witches (or regents as Serenity likes to think about them). Since then the two Kingdoms were at war. Thorngate was greatly over matched and the Kingdom from the North has easily defeated them all the way to the front doors of their Capitol City…. where Serenity lived, or once lived.
The story picks up the day Camerondale won the Great Witch War. Her guardian is a week late coming home, and the City is getting bombarded.
